Founders Day of Giving Champion Toolkit

Thanks for joining the Founders Day of Giving Team!

Champions like you are crucial to our success!

As a Founders Day of Giving Champion, you’ll rally sisters from across the country to celebrate 128 years of sisterhood and to make an impact on Kappa Delta’s future.

In the Chapter Challenge, bragging rights are on the line as chapters compete to raise the most dollars and/or greatest number of alumnae donors and claim the top spots on the leaderboard. But no matter who tops the list, all KDs win on Founders Day because the funds raised will build confidence and inspire action in Kappa Deltas today and for generations.

Thank you for all you will do in the coming days

There is no better way to celebrate 128 years of Kappa Delta sisterhood than by coming together to reach bold goals that ensure the KD Foundation can:

two collegians ready for graduation

01

Provide More Scholarships

In 2025, the KD Foundation awarded more than $888,000 in scholarships to almost 300 sisters — but over 1,500 applied. Your support helps close the gap and ensure more sisters can pursue their dreams.

02

Build Confident Leaders at Every Stage

From Confident Conversations, which has engaged more than 9,000 sisters since 2022, to leadership programs like Leadership Development Consultant training and the Officer Experience Institute, the KD Foundation equips members with tools to connect, grow and lead with confidence — in their chapters, on campus and beyond.

03

Promote Member Well-Being

With nearly 75% of college students reporting psychological distress, KD is dedicated to equipping sisters with the tools to thrive. Foundation funding supports well-being programs such as the Alcohol Skills Training Program and Name Your Story, ensuring sisters have the resources to stay safe and supported.

04

Provide Emergency Crisis Grants

When sisters face unexpected hardship, Alumnae Crisis Grants provide immediate financial relief, helping them in their most challenging moments.

What does a Founders Day of Giving Champion do?

On October 23, a day special to every KD, you’ll invite your sisters to honor our founders’ vision and make a gift that empowers future generations.

  • What's my role?
  • What’s my role?

Leading up to and on October 23, all you need to do is reach out to your chapter sisters and your network and ask them to contribute to the Kappa Delta Foundation on Founders Day of Giving.

  • How do I do this?
  • How do I do this?

Use the toolkit below to send emails, post on social media and text sisters with your special giving link. (We promise this will take very little legwork!) When sisters give, be sure to say “thank you!” We’ll share updates on gifts made so you can celebrate together.

  • What’s the time commitment?
  • What’s the time commitment?

This is a concerted push – so a short but critical time commitment in October! We ask that champions attend a Zoom kickoff party with National President Susan Stockton and KDF Chair Michelle Rabideau, to learn about your impact and get a little training. Then, you’ll contact KD sisters through emails, texting and/or social media, and aim to secure at least 10 donors using your special giving link (provided to you by KDF staff!).

  • How does this help my chapter?
  • How does this help my chapter?

It’s an awesome way to celebrate Kappa Delta’s birthday — and the founding of our sisterhood — by connecting with sisters! You’ll be a leader in ensuring your chapter is well-represented on the Chapter Challenge leaderboard. Sisters across the country will be watching the Founders Day of Giving site and our social media channels to see which chapters are angling for the top spots

Champions also have fun engaging with chapter sisters, encouraging friendly competition, and even paving the way to involve even more sisters in the future. All funds raised will build confidence and inspire action in Kappa Deltas today and in the future.

Your Champion Toolkit

Access your exclusive giving webpage

This year, every KD chapter with a Founders Day of Giving Champion will have its own designated Founders Day of Giving page! You will receive the link to this page via email after your kick-off party. This unique page will serve as the hub for your outreach, showing real-time progress on how much your chapter has raised and who has given in your chapter’s name so far.

As a Champion, you’ll share your chapter’s page link in every email, social media post and text message. Using the correct link ensures your chapter’s totals count toward the Chapter Challenge leaderboard, and helps sisters see the direct impact their gift is making!

This link is the key to making your efforts successful, so be sure to use it in all your outreach!

Email

As a champion, we’ll send one email on your behalf to ALL chapter sisters (who we have good contact info for) on Founders Day of Giving.

We also recommend you send several communications before, during and after Founders Day of Giving to excite members and invite them to donate (because let’s be honest, you probably have better contact info than we do!).

You can request contacts for your chapter opens in a new windowhere; you’ll also sign the Member Data Confidentiality commitment. Just specify your chapter and that the request is for Founders Day of Giving!

The email templates below will help you share the impact of donations to the foundation, as well as play up the friendly competition of the Chapter Challenge. Customize these with your personal touch, including the impact you’ve seen KD’s programs have on your chapter, and/or specifics about where the chapter is on the Chapter Challenge leaderboard.

Social Media

Spread the word about Founders Day of Giving on your personal media platforms! In EVERY post, share your special giving link!

Use the sample graphics and post language or share your own throwback KD photos or ones that show the impact it’s had on your life! Tag  opens in a new window@kappadeltahq and opens in a new window@kappadeltafoundation to get featured on KDs socials. Feel free to customize the captions but always include your giving link.

Tag sisters in the comments to get their attention, and to thank them once they give.

Provide progress updates through Founders Day of Giving (Oct. 23), including how much your chapter raised, who has donated, and where you are on the leaderboard!

Text Messaging

Texting is an easy way to encourage sisters to join together and make a gift to the Kappa Delta Foundation.

Keep texts short, sweet and personal! And in EVERY text, share your giving link to make donating easy on your sisters.
