Founders Day of Giving Champion Toolkit

Thanks for joining the Founders Day of Giving Team!

Champions like you are crucial to our success!

As a Founders Day of Giving Champion, you will get KDs from across the country excited about making an impact on our own Kappa Delta!

In the Chapter Challenge, serious bragging rights are on the line as chapters vie to raise the most dollars and secure the top spot on the leaderboard. But all KDs win on Founders Day, because the funds raised will build confidence and inspire action for today’s and tomorrow’s sisters.

Thank you for all you will do in the coming days

There is no better way to celebrate KD’s birthday than coming together to reach big goals that will ensure the KD Foundation can:

two collegians ready for graduation

01

Provide More Scholarships

This year, the KD Foundation granted a record of $946,576 to 335 sisters from 128 chapters. But the need is even greater, with more than 1,000 sisters applying for scholarships each year!

02

Offer Confident Conversations at No Cost

Participation in Confident Conversations more than doubled in its second year, and this year, the three-program series for collegians and alumnae focuses on providing each Kappa Delta with real-world strategies to shape her future, equipping attendees with the knowledge, skills and mindset for success.

03

Expand Discussion-based prevention education programs

In the years following the pandemic, college campuses have experienced an increase in risky drinking. To support our collegiate sisters’ health and wellbeing, Kappa Delta piloted a discussion-based alcohol education program with five collegiate chapters this past spring. The program’s implementation will expand to 20 additional chapters in the coming year and give your collegiate sisters tools to have important conversations and make brave decisions for their own wellbeing.

What does a Founders Day of Giving Champion do?

Founders Day of Giving is Oct. 23! On a day that’s special to each and every KD, you can give the gift of truth, of honor, of duty, without which there can be no true friendship.

Leading up to and on October 23, all you’ll need to do is reach out to your chapter sisters and your network and ask them to contribute to the Kappa Delta Foundation on Founders Day of Giving.

Using the toolkit below, you can send emails, post on social media, text sisters and get them excited to give. (We promise this will take very little legwork on your part!)

And then, when your sisters give, say “Thank you, sister!” We’ll keep you updated on who is making gifts so you can reach out with gratitude.

  • What’s the time commitment?

This is a concerted push – so a short but critical time commitment in October! We ask that champions attend a Zoom kickoff party, contact KD sisters through emails, texting and/or social media, and aim to secure at least 10 donors using your special giving link (provided to you by KDF staff!).

  • How does this help my chapter?

It’s an awesome way to celebrate Kappa Delta’s birthday — and the founding of our sisterhood — by connecting with sisters! You’ll be a leader in ensuring your chapter is well-represented on the Chapter Challenge leaderboard. Sisters across the country will be watching our social media channels to see which chapters are angling for the top spot.

Champions also have fun engaging with chapter sisters, encouraging friendly competition, and even paving the way to involve even more sisters in the future. All funds raised will build confidence and inspire action for today’s and tomorrow’s sisters.

Email

As a champion, we’ll send one email on your behalf to ALL chapter sisters (who we have good contact info for) on Founders Day of Giving.

We also recommend you send several communications before, during and after Founders Day of Giving to excite members and invite them to donate (because let’s be honest, you probably have better contact info than we do!). The email templates below will help you share the impact of donations to the foundation, as well as play up the friendly competition of the Chapter Challenge.

Customize these with your personal touch, including the impact you’ve seen KD’s programs have on your chapter, and/or specifics about where the chapter is on the Chapter Challenge leaderboard.
