Celebrate Volunteer Appreciation Month with Kappa Delta

April is here, and that means it’s Volunteer Appreciation Month! We’re so thankful for our incredible volunteers. Your hard work, dedication and love for our sisterhood is what keeps us strong!

We’re taking advantage of this special designated month to acknowledge anyone who has been a mentor, advisor or supporter in our lives. Whether you are CAB, NLT, a personal mentor or just a friendly face, advisors are essential in helping our collegians, alumnae and chapters!  You spend countless hours of time attending chapter meetings, planning events and guiding sisters along the way – all to better Kappa Delta. Here are a few ways you can show appreciation to a Kappa Delta volunteer for how she’s made a difference in your life!

  1. Introduce yourself: If you haven’t had the chance to meet your advisor, introduce yourself! The more conversations you have, the more you will learn that your advisor was once just like you, what you have in common and what you can learn from her.
  2. Just say thanks: A simple “thank you” can make anyone’s day. Next time you see your advisor, share your gratitude for everything she does for you and your chapter.

You can also submit a 30-second video thanking an advisor to @KappaDeltaHQ on Instagram. We will repost several throughout Volunteer Appreciation Month, so be on the lookout for your video or a video from a chapter member!

  1. Honor them with a virtual “thank-you” card: Say “thank you” and send some love to a Kappa Delta volunteer you know by donating in their honor to the Kappa Delta Foundation! In return, the foundation will send an honor card digitally or via snail mail! You can even include a personalized message! Be sure to tell them you’re grateful for all their time and hard work.
  2. Write a thank-you letter: Encourage your chapter to come together and write thank-you notes for your advisors. You can even make it a sisterhood event!
  3. Treat her to coffee: Reach out to your advisor and invite her to go out for coffee. Great conversations can happen over a latte!

Whether you text every day or meet once a month, let your volunteers know how appreciated they are and that their service doesn’t go unnoticed! Even the smallest gesture can make a huge difference.

And, to all the advisors and KD volunteers who don’t hear it enough, we want to say THANK YOU!
