When you think about the people who support your chapter, a few faces probably come to mind right away — the advisor who answers late-night texts before recruitment, the alumna who helps plan philanthropy events or the volunteer who makes sure your chapter home stays safe and welcoming.
Behind every strong chapter are volunteers who give their time, experience and heart to Kappa Delta. These women are alumnae who believe in the power of sisterhood and want to help the next generation of members grow into confident women.
While many of their efforts happen behind the scenes, their impact can be seen in every part of the member experience. Here’s a closer look at who Kappa Delta volunteers are — and what they make possible each year.

Most collegians interact with chapter advisory board (CAB) members regularly. These volunteers serve as advisors to chapter officers and help guide the chapter’s leadership and operations.
Each year, over 1,600 CAB volunteers support 167 collegiate chapters, offering mentorship, answering questions and helping chapters navigate everything from recruitment to event planning.
Their guidance helps chapters operate smoothly, stay aligned with Kappa Delta policies and continue growing stronger each year.

If your chapter has a facility, your local house corporation volunteers help oversee and manage the property. These women ensure the house is maintained, safe and functioning smoothly.
Each year, more than 400 house corporation volunteers oversee housing operations, budgets, maintenance and long-term planning for chapter facilities.
Because of them, chapter homes remain spaces where sisterhood thrives — where members gather, celebrate milestones and create memories that last long after graduation.

Alumnae chapters help keep Kappa Delta connections strong long after graduation. These groups bring together alumnae in local communities for networking, service, social events and sisterhood.
Each year, leaders from KD’s more than 150 alumnae chapters create opportunities for connection and engagement, helping KDs build friendships, professional networks and a continued sense of belonging.

Some volunteers serve Kappa Delta on a national level through the National Leadership Team (NLT). These women provide specialized expertise in areas like recruitment, finance, housing, Panhellenic relations and alumnae engagement.
Each year, 126 national leadership team volunteers work with chapters and local advisors to support healthy operations and provide guidance when challenges arise.
Their leadership helps ensure that Kappa Delta continues to evolve while staying rooted in its values.

In addition to local and national roles, some volunteers serve on national committees that support the leadership and governance of the organization.
These committees focus on areas like diversity, equity and inclusion; financial oversight and the long-term direction of Kappa Delta. While you may not interact with them directly, their work plays an important role in shaping the policies and decisions that impact every chapter.

The Kappa Delta Foundation also relies on volunteers who support scholarships and leadership opportunities for members.
Each year, volunteers help review over 1,700 scholarship and grant applications, ensuring resources are awarded thoughtfully and fairly.
Because of their efforts, members across the country receive support that helps them pursue their academic and professional goals.

Numbers help show the scale of our volunteers’ impact — but they only tell part of the story.
Kappa Delta volunteers show up. They answer questions, guide decisions, celebrate successes and support members through challenges.
They give their time while balancing careers, families and full lives — and they choose to invest that time in you.
During Volunteer Appreciation Month, take a moment to recognize the women who support your chapter. A quick text, a handwritten note or a simple “thank you” can mean more than you realize.
Their impact is felt every day — in the confidence you build, the friendships you form and the memories you create.
And while today you’re being supported by these women, one day you may find yourself wanting to do the same for the next generation of Kappa Delta sisters.
