Help build hopeful futures together during Child Abuse Prevention Month  2025

Every child deserves a safe, nurturing environment where they can grow, learn and thrive. Yet too many children face the heartbreaking reality of abuse or neglect. Prevent Child Abuse America has been one of KDs national philanthropies for over 43 years. Together Kappa Delta and PCA America have strengthened and empowered families, helping to stop child abuse and neglect before it happens.

April is National Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Month, a time when child wellness and child welfare organizations across the U.S. elevate the importance of creating systems and programs that put children and families first. With your involvement this April, we can do even more to build toward a world where all children grow up happy, healthy and prepared to succeed in supportive families and communities.

Want to help build confident families in our communities? There are a few ways you can partner with PCA America during Child Abuse Prevention month!

Learn More About KD’s Impact in Building Hopeful Futures

In 2024, Kappa Delta hosted an exclusive conversation with PCA America President and CEO Dr. Melissa Merrick and Kappa Delta Executive Director Maggie Waples. Together, they explored the powerful impact of Kappa Delta’s long-standing commitment to Prevent Child Abuse America and how our collective service and philanthropy help stop abuse before it happens.

If you missed it live, don’t worry—you can still catch this inspiring conversation and learn how your continued support plays a vital role in building brighter futures for children and families.

Wear blue on April 4!

Blue is the color of hope and protection, and we want you to wear your blue on April 4 to show support for building happy, healthy and confident children and families together with Prevent Child Abuse America. Wear blue and tag @KappaDeltaHQ in your pictures so we can see (AND SHARE!) your support.

Show your support on social media

Let’s get the word out about this important mission! Showcase your commitment to prevention on social media. What are you and your collegiate or alumnae chapter doing to make kids’ lives better? Post a photo or video on social media with the hashtags: #WearBlueDay2025 and tag @pcaamerica, @kappadeltahq. Kappa Delta has even created a downloadable toolkit to make it easier for you and your chapter to participate.

Childhood lasts a lifetime, and prevention is possible when we build together!

Take Action in Your Community!

Inspiring women toward action is central to who KD is. And if you’d like to take action in your community PCA America’s online tools provide resources to help you contact your elected officials to help you use your voice to support child and family-friendly policies.  They even host a Digital Action Day on April 9 to galvanize people passionate about this cause in contacting their elected officials.

Thank you for standing with Kappa Delta and Prevent Child Abuse America this April. When we come together in service, advocacy and awareness, we don’t just prevent harm—we build the foundation for confident lives, strong families and thriving communities.
