Each April, bright blue pinwheels begin popping up across campuses and communities as a visible symbol of hope during Child Abuse Prevention Month. Through the Pinwheels for Prevention® campaign led by Prevent Child Abuse America, pinwheels represent the joyful, carefree childhood every child deserves and the shared commitment to building strong families and safe communities. This year, Kappa Delta chapters found ways to bring this symbol to life — from colorful campus displays to meaningful community installations. Here are 10 ways Kappa Delta chapters showcased pinwheels and helped spread awareness throughout Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Members of Delta Beta Chapter placed pinwheels outside their local partner agency, the Children’s Advocacy Center of East Central Illinois.

Members of Gamma Chi Chapter planted pinwheels at Zahra Baker Park, each one representing a child affected by abuse in Catawba County, North Carolina.

Eta Delta Chapter members placed pinwheels across the Wright State campus during their Shamrock Week.
Eta Sigma Chapter also covered their campus in pinwheels to spread awareness throughout Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Delta Sigma Chapter sold pinwheels to every fraternity and sorority on campus during their PCA America Week, helping raise awareness and support across the Greek community.
