In 2019, Kappa Deltas everywhere made a difference by building confidence and inspiring action. As we prepare to ring in 2020, let’s reflect on some of this year’s highlights.
1. We initiated over 7,000 new members. Welcome to our newest KD sisters!
2. The 63rd Biennial National Convention opened Thursday, June 27, 2019, in Dallas. We hosted nearly 1,100 Kappa Deltas and guests during the inspiring four-day event!
3. We launched the Discover Kappa Delta campaign, featuring the stories of 48 collegiate members with different backgrounds, interests and abilities who shared what the sisterhood means to them through blogs, videos and posts. The Discover Kappa Delta video introducing 12 of the women was viewed over 40,000 times on Facebook.
4. We raised over $2.6 million for the prevention of child abuse! Former National President Alison Jakes Argersinger presented a check for $475,269 to Prevent Child Abuse America at the PCA America National Conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
5. The Kappa Delta blog debuted a new column, Ask Lenora! Lenora is able to give advice on all sorority-related topics to potential new members, members and alumnae.
6. The Kappa Delta Foundation presented $50,000 in scholarships to the 10 recipients of the Girl Scouts of the USA National Gold Award winners.

8. The Kappa Delta Foundation awarded $25,000 in KiDs Grants and $188,563 in undergraduate and graduate scholarships at Kappa Delta’s 63rd Biennial National Convention in Dallas.

10. The 2019-2021 National Council members were elected. They are: National President Tricia Ruma Spence, National Vice President Susan Stockton, National Vice President-Membership Karen Thomas Fesmire, National Vice President-Collegians Laura Beth Hanson McKew, National Vice President-Alumnae Tove Bichel Thomas and National Vice President-Finance Sarah Smith Dubbert. They will serve along with ex officio council members Julie Landgren Johnson, National Panhellenic Conference delegate, and Pamela Nix, Kappa Delta Sorority and Foundation executive director.
