Five Ways to Be Ever Loyal

post-default

“Kappa Delta is for a lifetime!” It’s safe to say most of us have heard this saying more than once throughout our Kappa Delta experience, but what does it really mean? What does Kappa Delta offer after graduation? When you reflect on your membership journey, college is only a few years of your lifelong membership in Kappa Delta.  Here are five ways you can stay connected and involved in Kappa Delta as an alumna.

Join an alumnae chapter. There are over 200 Kappa Delta alumnae chapters across the country with sisters who are ready to meet you! If you are in a new city, joining an alumnae chapter is a great way to meet women with whom you already have a connection. Alumnae chapters host community service, social and philanthropic activities as well as support the collegiate chapters in the area.  Just like your collegiate experience, you will find lasting friendships and support in an alumnae chapter. To find a chapter in your area, use the Find a Chapter tool on our website. If you can’t find an alumnae chapter in your area, consider starting one!

Update your member profile. Stay connected by updating your member profile. When you update your email address, you will always be in the loop with Kappa Delta and can expect to receive our monthly KD News and KD Connect newsletters. Make sure you never miss The Angelos by updating your mailing address as well. You can make changes to your member profile at any time by visiting members.kappadelta.org.

Volunteer. Did you have an alumna mentor who greatly influenced you while you were in the chapter? You could be that alumna to a collegian! Volunteers play a key role in the success of a chapter and build close relationships with collegians and other alumnae volunteers.  From serving on a chapter advisory board to house corporation to the National Leadership Team, a volunteer position may just have your name on it! Find information on how to apply here.

3.Volunteer

Get social with KD online. ‘Like’ your KD state page on Facebook to learn about events and gatherings happening near you. Find the page by searching, “Kappa Delta Alumnae in (state name).” To network with Kappa Deltas across the country, consider joining the Kappa Delta LinkedIn group. Stay in the loop on national Kappa Delta events and chapter achievements by following national Kappa Delta on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest, Snapchatopens IMAGE file and Instagram, and continue to follow your chapter of initiation! While you may no longer be in the area, your chapter may post important information about reunions and anniversary celebrations.

4.Get social online

Sign the Ever Loyal Pledge. Alumnae members have the opportunity to sign the Ever Loyal pledge to reaffirm their commitment to Kappa Delta. Members may sign the pledge online. Those who sign the pledge are added to the Ever Loyal membership roster and are eligible to wear the Ever Loyal pin. Alumnae may purchase a pin for $5 each. You can order your pin here.

5.Ever Loyal

Always remember that even after four years of collegiate membership, you are a Kappa Delta and should continue to strive for that which is honorable, beautiful and highest. To learn more about alumnae life, check out this page.
