This May, members of the Kappa Delta marketing and communications team attended the Fraternity Communications Association (FCA) Annual Conference. Each year, FCA recognizes standout communications efforts across inter/national sororities and fraternities and this year, Kappa Delta took home 11 awards celebrating our magazine, website, social media, video work, newsletters, foundation communications and more!
This honor is awarded to the top magazine among all fraternities and sororities. Every issue of The Angelos published in 2024 was judged cover to cover on writing, design, readability and audience engagement.
One judge said, “From excellent magazine covers, to strong feature writing, to maintaining a variety of snack-sized content that readers can easily consume, this publication remains consistently excellent across its issues. The attention to small details set this publication above the rest.”
We’re proud to see The Angelos recognized as a gold standard in fraternal publications.
Receiving the industry’s top honor for engagement, our social media channels help us connect with members and supporters in authentic, meaningful ways. By telling stories that matter and creating engaging content, we continue to build confidence and pride in the KD experience.
The judges noted our thoughtful approach to reaching different audiences where they are: Instagram and TikTok for real-time engagement, LinkedIn for alumnae and leadership connections, and Facebook and X for broader awareness. They also called out how we link our content to real results, which helped us stand out among other Greek organizations.

The “My KD Story” video series brings member’s stories to life. This award-winning feature, which judges called an “exciting, engaging feature story,” followed race car driver Ally Raphael, a Theta Mu–Richmond collegian, as she shared how Kappa Delta helped her build speed—and confidence.
The Collegiate Confidante is our monthly newsletter sent to collegiate members and volunteers. Created to keep members informed and supported, it delivers timely updates, announcements and helpful resources—right to their inbox.
Our bold and on-theme Convention “Save the Date” ad was honored for its visual impact and storytelling. It’s one of just five FCA awards judged by peer voting—making this recognition especially meaningful.
In 2024, the Kappa Delta Foundation expanded its annual report from a mailed postcard to a full 12-page Angelos magazine spread sent to more than 220,000 members. This change increased visibility, told a stronger impact story, and aligned the foundation and sorority more closely in the eyes of our members.
Our Founders Day of Giving website wasn’t just a place to donate—it became a hub of excitement and real-time engagement. With features like a donation leaderboard, unlockable matching gifts and a live donor roll, in 2024, we shattered our goal and raised $324,000 from more than 3,600+ donors, including over 600 first-time givers!
Using insights from donor surveys and focus groups, the Kappa Delta Foundation reimagined its annual report in both format and content. Through an integrated campaign, we shared the impact of giving in more engaging, accessible ways—earning stronger engagement and donor stewardship.
“A Lane of Her Own,” our My KD Story feature on Paralympic swimmer Trischa Zorn-Hudson, was honored for its powerful mix of writing and design. Trischa’s inspiring story showcased the strength, resilience and sisterhood that define Kappa Delta.
The winter 2024 cover of The Angelos was hand-drawn by Nu–Oklahoma State sister Ellie Ediger and highlighted 20 reasons to love KD, crowdsourced from real members. This creative, member-driven design earned peer-voted praise for its heart and originality.
Marketing and Communications Director Heather Matthews (pictured left) was honored for her outstanding service on FCA’s education committee. Throughout the year, she helped plan sessions for two conferences as well as virtual education, stepping up when the association needed her most. Heather was also elected to the 2025–2027 FCA Board of Directors as Education Director.
We’re incredibly proud of these achievements and the hard work of our team in making them possible!
