Philanthropy. From hosting Shamrock events to planning events for local Girl Scouts, the concept of philanthropy is central to our membership experience. Kappa Delta inspires us to action, allowing us to make a significant impact on others.

While we all know that the prevention of child abuse and Girl Scouts are worthy causes, there is another philanthropic cause that makes a difference in the lives of those closest to us — our KD sisters! Did you know the Kappa Delta Foundation is, in fact, a philanthropy? Sisters of any age and generation can donate to the foundation just like any other nonprofit organization.

You may wonder, “Why should I give to the foundation? I paid dues to Kappa Delta.” While dues make the collegiate membership experience possible, covering the cost of running the chapter and providing national support, donations to the foundation provide life-changing opportunities for our sisters. The KD Foundation funds undergraduate and graduate scholarships to help KD sisters pay for the rising cost of tuition, internship experiences that build the foundation of their careers, grants that impact our communities, as well as educational programming for members to learn leadership and interpersonal skills.

The Kappa Delta Foundation set a goal to raise $10,000 on Giving Tuesday this year to provide life-changing scholarships, internships, educational opportunities and leadership training for our Kappa Delta sisters.

What is Giving Tuesday? It is a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and their world. Giving Tuesday will kick off the season of giving by inspiring people to give back on Dec. 3.

• Join our Giving Tuesday event and invite others.
• On Giving Tuesday, like, comment and share the KD Foundation’s posts.
• Share why giving to the foundation is important to you and use #KDGivingTuesday.
• Give a gift on Giving Tuesday!
