Throughout September, Kappa Deltas have been busy building confidence! We’ve been learning how to intervene in risky situations, create a safer campus and celebrate the friendships that allow us to be our very best. Bystander intervention is one of the most effective ways to prevent some of the behaviors or activities that negatively affect our campus communities.

Below is a recap of everything we have covered through Coffee and Confidence this month, as well as resources your chapter can use to continue the conversation.

• Tips and resources for intervening in a risky situation, such as attending a bystander intervention training or signing the It’s On Us pledge.
• How to stay safe during the Red Zone, including showing you C.A.R.E based on tips from RAINN, the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network.
• 5 Reasons KDs Don’t Haze, which provides ideas to build confidence in each other and say “no” to hazing.
• If you experience or witness hazing behaviors in your chapter or on your campus, we encourage you to report it.  You can do so anonymously by calling 1-800-NOT-HAZE. Kappa Delta has a zero-tolerance policy on hazing, which is strictly enforced.
