April is Child Abuse Prevention Month

Prevent Child Abuse America has been one of KDs national philanthropies for over 41 years. Together Kappa Delta and PCA America have strengthened and empowered families, helping to stop child abuse and neglect before it happens.

April is National Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Month, a time when child wellness and child welfare organizations across the U.S. elevate the importance of creating systems and programs that put children and families first. With your involvement this April, we can do even more to build toward a world where all children grow up happy, healthy and prepared to succeed in supportive families and communities.

Want to help build confident families in our communities? There are a few ways you can partner with PCA America during Child Abuse Prevention month!

Join the Social Media Conversation

Let’s get the word out about this important mission! Showcase your commitment to prevention on social media. What are you and your collegiate or alumnae chapter doing to make kids’ lives better? Post a photo or video on social media with the hashtags: #CAPMonth2023 and tag @pcaamerica, @kappadeltahq and @kappadeltafoundation. PCA America has even created a downloadable toolkit to make it easier for you to participate.

Childhood lasts a lifetime, and prevention is possible when we build together!

Digital Advocacy Day – April 19

Inspiring women toward action is central to who KD is. And if you’d like to take action in your community PCA America’s online tools provide resources to help you contact your elected officials to help you use your voice to support child and family-friendly policies.

Plant a Virtual Pinwheel Garden

Plant a Virtual Pinwheel Garden to raise awareness and financial support for policies and programs that enable children, families, and communities to thrive. Your action helps show the need for positive childhood experiences – and the groundswell of support in preventing child abuse and neglect.
