10 Ways We Inspire Action

Kappa Deltas believe in making a difference through the work that we do. Whether on campus, at work or in the community, we don’t just talk about what we hope to accomplish; we take action to get there. Here are 10 ways we inspire action in each other and in the world around us.

Leadership Opportunities. From chapter council positions to appointed positions and committees, we empower members to opens in a new windowget involved in the chapter. Members are eligible to apply for a leadership position as early as their first semester!

Internships. Nothing inspires our members to action like real world experience. Shamrock Events. Collegians take action in their communities and the nation by raising funds through annual opens in a new windowShamrock events to support child abuse prevention efforts.

Hazing Prevention. By signing Kappa Delta’s zero-tolerance hazing policy, all members commit to building each other up and speaking out if something isn’t right.

Girl Scout Campus Tours. Every spring, opens in a new windowGirl Scouts get a glimpse into daily college life when Kappa Delta chapters host campus tours. Many include educational workshops where Kappa Deltas encourage Girl Scouts to discuss their dream jobs and explore non-traditional careers.

Confidence U. The  opens in a new windowKappa Delta Foundation offers opens in a new windowConfidence U Grants that allow campus leaders to take action to build confidence in women by addressing one or more issues that affect women on their campuses, such as eating disorders, unhealthy relationships, alcohol abuse, body image, cyberbullying and more.

Consultant Program. Kappa Delta’s opens in a new windowleadership development consultants visit chapters across the country to lead workshops, provide guidance and strengthen leadership skills among members.

Sexual Assault Awareness. Members are empowered to address the issue of campus sexual assault through a variety of educational programs including a presentation at Kappa Delta’s National Collegiate Training Academy on bystander intervention from opens in a new windowRAINN (Rape and Abuse Incest National Network). Chapters also participate in awareness initiatives like the Red Zone and It’s On Us.

New-Member Program. New members are welcomed into the chapter through a six-week new-member program during which they learn ways they can get involved in the chapter. With a leadership fair, confidence workshops and alumnae meet-and-greet, our new members learn ways they can take action immediately.
