This May, members of the Kappa Delta marketing and communications team attended the Fraternity Communications Association Annual Conference, where Kappa Delta received six awards recognizing excellence in marketing, communications and member engagement. With this year’s honors, Kappa Delta tied for the most recognized sorority this year and has now earned 39 FCA awards in the last four years alone.
Kappa Delta received the industry’s top honor for overall social media engagement, recognizing the organization’s ability to connect with members and supporters through authentic storytelling, meaningful conversations and engaging digital content.
One judge shared, “The work effectively balances sisterhood, leadership, philanthropy and action-oriented calls to engagement, resulting in a social presence that feels authentic, purposeful and consistently on-brand.”

Designed as a centralized hub for event information and resources, the site provided attendees with an engaging, user-friendly experience while keeping all event communications within Kappa Delta’s existing website framework.
The EMPOWER website generated more than 5,500 page views and over 11,500 key interactions, demonstrating strong engagement from members, volunteers and staff who attended the event. Beyond supporting the conference, the project also created a scalable template that will be used for future Kappa Delta conventions and events.
Created to celebrate 100 years of the beloved Seals Appeal tradition, the campaign invited alumnae to vote on their favorite historic seals designs through a multi-platform digital experience.
The campaign generated more than 7,400 votes and exceptional engagement across social media, email and web platforms, proving the power of combining tradition with fresh, interactive storytelling. Judges praised the campaign’s creative use of an existing Kappa Delta tradition, strong multi-channel execution and ability to create meaningful alumnae participation through a highly cost-effective effort.
Kappa Delta earned third place in the category of short story packaging for opens in a new window“A Leader for Girls, A Sister for Life,” a feature on Girl Scouts of the USA CEO Bonnie Barczykowski becoming an alumna initiate of Kappa Delta. The story highlighted themes of opportunity, lifelong sisterhood and empowering women and girls, while sharing Bonnie’s personal journey and connection to Kappa Delta.
The design blended Kappa Delta and Girl Scouts branding with interactive storytelling elements, including a sidebar highlighting “Bonnie’s Four Fs” and a companion video interview. The result was a warm, visually engaging story package that celebrated both organizations’ shared mission of building confident female leaders.
The Collegiate Confidante, Kappa Delta’s monthly newsletter for collegiate members, earned third place in the digital newsletter category. Designed to keep members informed and supported, the newsletter delivers timely updates, announcements and resources directly to members’ inboxes.
Judges praised the newsletter’s ability to connect with a broad audience while maintaining engaging, useful and inclusive content.
The opens in a new windowFall 2025 Sistory feature in The Angelos earned third place in the peer-voted category for two-page magazine design. The feature looked back on Kappa Delta’s 1925 National Convention, drawing connections to the organization’s 2025 National Convention held 100 years later. By blending historical storytelling with a modern milestone moment, the piece celebrated Kappa Delta’s rich history while highlighting the enduring traditions that continue to shape the sisterhood today.

Samantha McGinty Dutton, Xi-Pittsburgh, was honored for her outstanding work on FCA’s mentorship program. Samantha is the director of marketing for Gamma Phi Beta International Sorority, and in a volunteer role for FCA, she has developed and managed a professional peer mentoring program.
