As you prepare for your journey to Grapevine, Texas, we’ve gathered key reminders and travel tips to help ensure your arrival is smooth and stress-free—plus a preview of the inspiring, connection-filled weekend ahead.

So, grab your badge, pack your enthusiasm, and get ready for an unforgettable experience that will leave you feeling confident, connected, and more inspired than ever.

Know Before You Go

What to Wear?

One of the most common questions before convention is: what do I wear? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! If you’re looking for inspiration or want to make sure nothing gets left behind, head to our official What to Pack guideopens PDF file .

And if you signed up for Saturday morning yoga with Executive Director Maggie Waples, don’t forget your mat! If you didn’t purchase one during registration, we’ll have a limited number of KD yoga mats available at registration check-in.

Keep an eye out for Kappa Deltas on your travels

There’s nothing quite like spotting another KD en route to convention. With more than 1,000 sisters traveling to Grapevine, you’re likely to meet fellow members in the airport or hotel lobby. Watch for green and white apparel, KD swag, and welcoming smiles—you might meet a new sister-friend before you even unpack your suitcase.

Getting to the Hotel

The 2025 National Convention will be held at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center, located at 1501 Gaylord Trail, Grapevine, TX 76051. If you’re flying into DFW or Love Field, rideshare services and shuttles are readily available. Driving in? No problem! Directions and GPS will get you there with ease.

Parking

If you’re bringing a vehicle, the Gaylord Texan offers self-parking at $25 per day. Valet service is available for $45 per day, plus applicable taxes and fees.

Checking In

Hotel check-in begins at 4 p.m. CDT. If you arrive before then, stop by the KD Convention Registration Desk in the Pre-Function space to check in with us. Luggage storage is available with the bellhop near the hotel’s main entrance.

When checking into your hotel room, you’ll need a major credit card for incidentals. This won’t result in an extra charge but will place a temporary hold on your account, released after checkout. We recommend using a credit card rather than a debit card to avoid having funds tied up during your stay.

How to make the most of your time at National Convention

Network with sisters from across the country

National Convention offers incredible opportunities to build lasting connections. Whether you’re sharing a meal, catching an elevator, or chatting between sessions, make time to meet sisters from other chapters. You’ll gain new ideas, hear fresh perspectives, and possibly form lifelong friendships.

But don’t forget—networking is what you give, too. Offer your experiences and encouragement, and together we’ll grow a greater and better sisterhood for the years ahead.

Listen and learn from inspiring speakers

Our speaker lineup is one you won’t want to miss. Whether you’re attending your first convention or your fifth, you’ll walk away with powerful insights and renewed motivation. Jot down your takeaways, connect with speakers on social media, and bring what you’ve learned back to your chapter.

You’ll also participate in key moments of Kappa Delta’s business, from exploring National Bylaws to witnessing the election of our next National Council. And this year, attendees will experience a special initiation ceremony facilitated by National Council, deepening your bond with our shared ritual and values.

Take time to celebrate sisters

opens in a new windowThe White Rose Garden is now in bloom, offering a beautiful way to honor a sister, mentor, volunteer or friend who’s made an impact on your KD journey. Stop by the White Rose Garden in the KD Corral to send roses in person, or give online anytime! Every rose helps fund leadership opportunities, scholarships and emergency assistance grants for your sisters. It’s super easy—just use the Sister Search to find them, create a virtual bouquet, add a personal note, and send! Your sisters will get their roses instantly by email.

This year, the KD Foundation has introduced a new way to unite sisters to invest in one another: White Rose Garden giving circles! Donors who send roses between May 16 and June 23 will receive special recognition and exclusive pins to don at convention and beyond by giving at one of three levels:

  • Bloom circle – $250 in White Rose Garden donations
  • Blossom circle – $500 in White Rose Garden donations
  • Bouquet circle – $1,000 in White Rose Garden donations

Whether you send one rose or a whole bouquet, your support will remind a sister that she’s seen, valued and celebrated—and it helps keep our sisterhood strong for generations to come!

Leave bursting with KD spirit

On Saturday night, we’ll gather for one of the most anticipated sisterhood events of the biennium: the KD Cabana! We’re taking over the private waterpark at the Gaylord Texan for an evening of dinner, swimming, games and fun. It’s a chance to unwind, connect, and create new memories with sisters from across the country.

But the celebration doesn’t stop there. On Sunday, we’ll come together to close out Convention with the White Rose Banquet—a cherished tradition where we honor and celebrate excellence in our sisterhood. During this elegant evening, we’ll recognize the recipients of Kappa Delta’s four highest chapter awards and reflect on the bonds and achievements that unite us. We hope you leave feeling inspired, connected and empowered to bring the spirit of Convention back to your chapter and community, as you continue to live boldly and lead with confidence.
