National Harbor, Maryland. On July 2, 2023, the Kappa Delta Foundation announced the Imagine Her Future campaign raised more than $4.6 million to increase scholarship support for Kappa Deltas.
Imagine Her Future publicly launched in June 2021 with a goal of raising $2.5 million, after having already secured more than $1.5 million during the quiet phase that began August 1, 2019. By June 2022, the campaign reached its $2.5 million target, eventually topping $4.6 million when the campaign total was announced.
The campaign was celebrated at the Imagine Her Future Luncheon at Kappa Delta’s 65th Biennial National Convention.
“At this exciting moment — during Kappa Delta’s 125th anniversary – you’ve transformed what began as hopes and dreams into something real and amazing: not only did we meet our Imagine Her Future campaign goal, but we exceeded it by more than $2 million!” said Beth Martin Langford, outgoing chair of the Kappa Delta Foundation board of directors. “More scholarships – of every kind – will be available for undergraduate and graduate Kappa Delta sisters than ever before. You’re not just making sure your KD sisters thrive during college, but you’re setting them up for success for a lifetime. That speaks volumes about our sisterhood and the bonds we share.”
In the last three weeks, just shy of $1 million was added to the campaign through donations to the White Rose Garden and individuals creating new scholarships.
An unprecedented number of scholarships have been established through the campaign – 113 – which is inclusive of 49 endowed scholarships, 3 spend-down scholarships and 61 one-time scholarships. In addition, more than half a million dollars has been added to the general scholarship fund, which is used to award several scholarships each year. Of the endowed scholarships, 37 are at the $30,000 level, seven are between $30,000 and $50,000, two are between $50,000 and $100,000 and three were endowed over $100,000.
Said Langford, “Together we all Imagined Her Future. Together we are truly unstoppable.”
