Give to KD

Support the Kappa Delta Foundation.

By contributing to the foundation, you invest not only in the future of your sisters but in the future of Kappa Delta. Every gift, at any amount, supports educational and leadership opportunities offered to your sisters and the philanthropic efforts of Kappa Delta. You can make an extraordinary impact on the lives of KD women and in our communities.

The Kappa Delta Foundation is exempt from federal income tax under Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)(3). Donations to the foundation are tax-deductible as provided by law.

Kappa Delta Foundation donors are recognized with prestigious giving societies, based on cumulative giving. Our donor listing can be viewed here.

Your gift to the KD Forever Fund furthers Kappa Delta’s vision and helps build confident sisters and inspire them to action. Gifts to the KD Forever Fund are unrestricted, allowing the foundation to use your gift where it’s most needed. You will help us respond to the urgent needs of members and make an immediate impact. KD Forever Fund gifts strengthen the foundation’s scholarship, leadership training and philanthropic programs while providing ongoing operational support.

Tribute gifts

Make a donation in honor or memory of someone special to our KD Forever Fund, as well as purchase a commemorative brick at Kappa Delta HQ.

Estate gift/Bequest

Bequests, charitable gift annuities, charitable trusts, endowments and beneficiary designations of life insurance or retirement plan assets are simple yet impactful ways you can leave a legacy for the future of Kappa Delta. Those who notify the foundation that they have included Kappa Delta in their wills or other instruments of estate planning are honored by membership into the prestigious Dorothea Cavin Society.

Donor-advised fund gifts

Making an irrevocable gift of personal assets may allow you to receive the maximum tax deduction allowed by the IRS. After consultation, once the fund has been established, you can recommend where grants are sent, such as to the Kappa Delta Foundation.

Stock gifts

Gifts of appreciated stocks and securities may be eligible for an income tax charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the stock and eliminate any capital gains tax. Your advisor may need our legal name and tax ID number, both included below. For stock transfer instructions, contact the foundation.

Tax ID: 84-0880886

Legal Name: Kappa Delta Foundation, Incorporated

Give the gift of scholarship

A scholarship can provide educational enrichment and the tools to guide Kappa Deltas to success. Contact the foundation to learn more about ways to establish a scholarship.

IRA gifts

Donors age 70 ½ or older can transfer up to $100,000 annually from their IRA directly to the Kappa Delta Foundation without being subject to income taxes on the distribution. Contact your IRA administrator or the foundation for more information.

Give from your family foundation

Making a gift through your family foundation may reduce your income tax, help avoid capital gains taxes, and reduce potential estate taxes. After consultation, you may give to an organization that advances your family’s charitable mission, such as to the Kappa Delta Foundation.

Send a virtual rose

The foundation’s White Rose Garden initiative is available year-round and coincides with Kappa Delta’s regional and national gatherings. The garden gives you the chance to celebrate a sister, friend or family member with the gift of a Kappa Delta virtual rose. Send a rose to a sister today.

Intentions or endowments

Spreading out your payments on a large gift through a gift intention—an agreement to make a gift to the foundation—can help you give a generous gift using regular payments over time.

We also accept endowment gifts. Unlike gifts for current use, endowment gifts provide security over the long term by expanding the foundation’s permanent financial base and creating a predictable source of future income for such things as endowed scholarships.

To learn more about gift intentions and endowment gifts, please contact the foundation.
