With tuition continuing to rise, scholarships can be a huge help. The Kappa Delta Foundation is committed to easing the financial burden for our sisters so they can finish their degrees. Scholarships are made possible through generous gifts and bequests to the Kappa Delta Foundation.
We want all KD sisters to be able to pay for their tuition without sacrificing their membership in Kappa Delta.
We support KD sisters as their reach their academic goals, no matter their phase in life.
KDs most amazing collegiate leaders receive scholarship support in recognition of their achievements with the Corre Anding Stegall Collegiate Leadership Award.
We’re so glad you’re thinking about applying for a scholarship! It may seem daunting, but we want to help you every step of the way and make your application process easy! If any of your questions are not answered below, reach out to us at kdfoundation@kappadelta.orgcreate new email.
All Kappa Delta sisters (including new members!) that are pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree and are in good standing with KD are eligible. Don’t worry! There is no minimum GPA to apply and we accept applications from all majors and chapters. While some scholarships are established for certain majors and chapters, there are many scholarships available to everyone.
If you’re an undergraduate applicant, you must be enrolled in an accredited college or university as a full-time student for the full academic year.
If you’ve applied (or anticipate applying) for admission to a graduate program, you should apply using a graduate scholarship application.
Graduate applicants can be enrolled in an accredited college or university’s certificate, master’s or doctoral degree program as a part-time or full-time student for the full academic year.
The Kappa Delta Foundation offers undergraduate merit, undergraduate need-based and graduate merit scholarships. Most scholarships are open to all applicants, but some have been established for a particular chapter, field of study, state of residence or college.
The undergraduate merit and need-based scholarship applications are different. Students who wish to apply for both must complete both applications.
The Corre Anding Stegall Collegiate Leadership Award application is also a separate application.
There are a few requirements you’ll need to check off before you can submit your application. You will need:
For undergraduate merit and graduate scholarships:
For undergraduate need-based scholarships:
What is optional:
For merit scholarships, applicants are scored in several categories: academic achievement, involvement (KD/campus/community/work), and personal statements. For need-based scholarships, applicants are scored based on academic achievement, financial need and personal statements.
Kappa Delta Foundation scholarships can be applied toward academic expenses, including tuition and course related fees. Because the Kappa Delta Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, our scholarships cannot be applied toward Kappa Delta or sorority-specific expenses, including dues.
If you have leftover scholarship funds at the end of the year, the unused funds may not be applied to the next academic year’s tuition or your graduate school tuition and must be returned to the Kappa Delta Foundation.
Applicants are notified via email if they have or have not received a scholarship. The foundation will use your preferred email address indicated in your application. Applicants are announced over the spring/summer. Please be careful to submit an email address that you will have access to while you are away from school.
In the summer prior to the start of the school year, the scholarship will be sent to your university on your behalf. You will have the opportunity to update your university information before your scholarship is distributed. Your student ID number will be included on the memo line of the check, so the university knows where to apply the scholarship.
To ensure your scholarship is applied correctly, the Kappa Delta Foundation sends instructions with all checks asking the university to apply the scholarship fully to your fall semester tuition. It is your responsibility to monitor your account to make sure the full scholarship is applied to fall semester tuition.
