The countdown is on! In just a matter of days, we will come together to celebrate Our Own KD with sisters from all over the country at Kappa Delta 65th Biennial National Convention.
As you get ready to start your journey to National Harbor, MD, we have reminders and travel information to ensure a smooth and enjoyable trip plus a little more about what you can expect from convention.
So, grab your badge, pack your enthusiasm, and prepare for an unforgettable experience that will leave you feeling confident, connected and more inspired than ever before.
The most important question you might have – what do I wear to National Convention? We’ve got your back! If you’re still in need of some inspiration or a checklist so you don’t forget anything important, check out our What to Pack guideopens PDF file !
Also, if you signed up for Yoga on Saturday morning with Executive Director Maggie Waples, don’t forget to pack your mat (if you didn’t purchase on while registering). We’ll have some extra KD yoga mats for purchase at KD&Co, too.
Who doesn’t love meeting someone new and finding out they’re also a KD? Almost 900 Kappa Deltas from all over the country will be traveling to National Harbor. You’ll probably bump into a few of them along the way! Hint: look for KD swag and a lot of green and white in the airport or as you arrive to the hotel. Who knows, you might meet your new best friend before convention even starts!
Convention is at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. If you’re flying in and using a ride share app to get to the hotel or driving on your own, here is the address to the convention center: 201 Waterfront Street, National Harbor, Maryland, USA, 20745.
If you are driving to convention, parking is available at the Gaylord National. Self-parking is $33 per day and valet is $54, plus applicable fees and taxes, for convention attendees.
Once you arrive at the hotel, hotel check-in is at 4 p.m. ET. If you arrive before 4 p.m., you can head to our KD convention registration desk in the Maryland Pre-Function space to check in with us while you wait for your room to be ready. There is a bellhop by the hotel’s main entrance where you can leave your bags.
Once you check in to your room, the hotel will ask for a major credit card for incidentals on your room reservation. This won’t charge you anything extra, but it will place a “hold” of funds – it’s like the hotel’s version of a security deposit that you’ll get back as soon as you check out. However, if you use a debit card for the room, you might not have access to those funds until you check out of your room, so we recommend using a credit card.
You will receive a hard copy of the Convention agenda when you check in at our attendee registration desk. Before you get there, want to know what we’ll be doing together? Bookmark the convention website in your browser for quick access to the agenda.
Do you have a question about convention, the agenda, or need to know what room a session is in? Ask Katy! Katy is Kappa Delta’s A.I. assistant here to help you! Simply text “hi” to 833.279.1628 to get started.
Incredible networking opportunities await you at convention. Take the time to connect with women from different chapters during meals, elevator rides and your free time. You never know what valuable information you might discover, whether it’s finding answers to your KD questions, learning new ideas to implement in your chapter or simply making lifelong friends along the way.
But remember that networking is not just about what you can gain but also about what you can offer. Together, you can empower and inspire each other, creating a stronger sisterhood that will endure for our next 125 years.
Get ready to soak up all the knowledge from our impressive lineup of speakers. Whether you’re a seasoned convention-goer or a first-time attendee, you are guaranteed to learn something new. Take notes, follow the speakers’ socials and take the things you learn back to your friends, chapters and communities.

In addition to the motivational sessions, you’ll have the opportunity to dive into sorority business matters. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of National Bylaws and delegates will elect our next National Council, strengthening your connection to our national organization.
The Kappa Delta Foundation is excited to announce the White Rose Garden is officially open! The White Rose Garden gives you the opportunity celebrate sisters by sending them virtual roses and in turn, support scholarships for KD sisters everywhere! You can purchase your roses early online, or buy them onsite at Convention. (Hint: There’s a Sister Search that makes finding a sister to honor easy.)
We’re also kicking off its launch with the White Rose Garden Chapter Challenge! The chapter whose alumnae and/or collegiate members sends the most roses through the virtual rose garden between June 12 and July 1 will win a $5,000 scholarship from the foundation for the next biennium!
This is also an extra special year: every rose you send will support the foundation’s goal to raise $100,000 and contribute to the $3.5 million Imagine Her Future scholarship campaign goal. Join the competition and help your collegiate chapter win the Chapter Challenge today!
Happy campers will experience the KD retreat of their dreams at KΔMP KD – this biennium’s biggest sisterhood event! You’ll have a chance to take a photo with National Council, sit around a bonfire with your KD sisters and so much s’more under the stars in National Harbor!
Get ready for an unforgettable experience that will leave you feeling inspired, connected, and uplifted. We want you to carry the memories, connections you’ll make and the insight learned during this weekend back to your chapters and communities as you live out Kappa Delta’s values.
