MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE — With the theme “Experience Kappa Delta,” Kappa Delta Sorority’s 62nd Biennial National Convention opened Wednesday, June 28, at the Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix. More than 900 Kappa Deltas and guests will experience the sorority’s rich traditions and pageantry, inspiring speakers and national sisterhood through July 1 when the event will come to a close with the presentation of the top chapter awards.
At the opening session, Kappa Delta awarded individual honors to the outstanding alumnae named biennially to the Order of the Emerald and Order of the Pearl and the collegiate recipients of the annual Corre Anding Stegall Collegiate Leadership Awards.
Kappa Delta’s Order of the Emerald recognizes alumnae who have displayed extraordinary service to an alumnae chapter, chapter advisory board, house corporation, Panhellenic and/or state or national Kappa Delta. Recipients are nominated by Kappa Delta sisters and/or chapters and selected by a national committee. View the list of Order of Emerald recipientsopens PDF file .
Order of the Pearl is given to alumnae who have made outstanding contributions at the national, state or local level in areas other than service to Kappa Delta. Nominated by her Kappa Delta sisters and selected by a committee, each recipient has exemplified in every way the ideals of the sorority through service to the community. The Corre Anding Stegall Collegiate Leadership Award is named for former National President Corre Anding Stegall and presented each year to the top echelon of Kappa Delta student leaders. Awards are based on high academic performance, exemplary leadership within the chapter, on campus and in the community. Each of tonight’s collegiate leadership award winners received a $3,000 scholarship from the Kappa Delta Foundation. View the list of Corre Award recipientsopens PDF file .

Kappa Delta Sorority is a national organization for women with more than 250,000 members, 164 active collegiate chapters and more than 500 chartered alumnae chapters nationwide.
