KD volunteers build confidence
01
Our chapter advisors are central to Kappa Delta’s success. They mentor, motivate, and serve our collegiate sisters in all areas of chapter operations. Advisors work directly with chapter officers and support the development and implementation of the chapter’s goals and plans, leading them toward future and continued success. Visit the Member Portal to apply!

Our local housing volunteers who serve on house corporation boards provide collegiate sisters with a safe place to call home. Kappa Delta chapters call a variety of spaces “home” — be it a house, lodge, suite, dormitory floor or chapter room. Alumnae with talents in facility or personnel management, rental property or finance are encouraged to volunteer to serve on local house corporations that manage these properties. Visit the Member
Portal to apply!

Our National Leadership Team is a group of dedicated and knowledgeable alumnae united in their efforts to uphold the sorority’s values, promote its interests, and bring out the best in its collegiate and alumnae members. NLT members are selected by the National Council based on their service to KD at the local level and/or exceptional professional skills. Apply to serve on NLT by visiting the
Member Portal!

Sorority committees support the leadership and governance functions of national Kappa Delta. Sorority standing committees are appointed for each biennium and timelines vary. For those interested in the DEI Advisory or Investment Advisory Committees, you can fill out a Standing Committee Interest Form located on the Member Portal. For information on the timeline for Nominating Committee applications you can visit the Governance folder in the Resource Library.

Each year, the foundation offers KD sisters and communities support in the areas of education, leadership and philanthropy; the foundation is proud to provide this support through scholarships, grants and awards. Our application review committees play a critical role in awarding these opportunities.
We’re so glad you’re considering volunteering for KD! You may have questions, and the good news is we are here to help! If any of your questions are not answered below, reach out to us.
Absolutely! Any KD, no matter if she served as an officer in her undergraduate chapter or not, can complete an interest form and will be considered for a volunteer role. We are looking for women with time, energy, and love for KD! We provide support throughout the volunteer experience to make sure you feel comfortable and successful in your role.
The time commitment of our volunteers depends on the role and what your schedule allows. That’s what makes volunteering for KD so special: there is an opportunity for all types of schedules!
You’re not alone! National Kappa Delta trains and supports volunteers with a guidebook, webinars, dedicated National Leadership Team members to answer all your questions and sessions at National Convention.
No, any alumna in good standing with the KD can volunteer immediately following graduation. However, we prefer that our sisters wait two years after graduation before volunteering with their own chapter unless special permission is granted.
Many local volunteers live near the chapter they serve, but some volunteers also serve remotely. Travel depends on the role you hold and what’s needed for that position. Travel expectations will be communicated, if there are any.
Yes! Becoming a remote volunteer is great for any alumnae sister wanting to share her time, expertise and love for KD with collegiate chapter leaders. You’ll still be able to develop relationships with collegians and mentor them, but the communication will likely take place over phone calls, texts, FaceTime, email and Zoom.
Volunteering offers excellent opportunities for professional development and personal growth. You can explore new areas of interest while expanding your team-working, communication, time-management and relationship-building skills. You may also develop new friendships with sisters across the country.
