Kappa Delta Foundation Awards 2020 KiDs Grants

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Kappa Delta Foundation awarded $24,350 to five KiDs Grant recipients. KiDs Grants allow Kappa Delta alumnae chapters and individual alumnae an opportunity to partner with local nonprofit agencies to provide quality programming and prevention-oriented projects.

“These five projects will have a direct, positive impact on local children, families and communities,” said Beth Martin Langford (Kappa Alpha-Florida State), chair of the Kappa Delta Foundation Board of Directors. “Without the foundation’s generous donors, projects like these would not be possible. The support of generous donors ensures KDs continue to make a difference in our world.”

The 2020 KiDs Grant recipients are:

  • Richardson/Plano, Texas, Alumnae Chapter received $7,000 on behalf of Family Compass’ Growing as Parents program, which educates pregnant young women and young mothers about parenting skills and child abuse prevention.
  • Rio Grande, Texas, Alumnae Chapter received $5,000 on behalf of the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) of Hidalgo County to provide equipment for an additional forensic interview room, which will allow the CAC to minimize the time a child has to wait to be interviewed after experiencing sexual or physical abuse.
