What is the National Leadership Team?

The National Leadership Team (NLT) is a group of dedicated alumnae volunteers who work closely with Kappa Delta’s National Council and Headquarters staff to support the organization’s mission and membership. NLT members serve as liaisons to collegiate and alumnae chapters, provide guidance to help ensure chapters thrive through strategic leadership and programming.

What are the qualifications needed to apply for a position on the NLT?

Applicants must be alumnae members in good standing who are passionate about Kappa Delta’s mission and values. Prior leadership experience within Kappa Delta, either at the chapter or national level, is highly recommended. Strong organizational and communication skills, aptitude in technology platforms, along with a commitment to serving the sorority, are essential for success in this role. 

What is the time commitment for members of the National Leadership Team?

The time commitment varies depending on the specific role, but NLT members should expect to dedicate several hours each week. This includes participating in virtual meetings, responding to chapter inquiries via phone and email, and providing ongoing mentorship and support. NLT appointed for the 2025-2027 biennium are expected to attend the 2025 National Convention in Grapevine, Texas for the NLT Academy and to serve as a delegate in official business meetings. Some NLT roles may require occasional travel for chapter visits and other national events. Is there a chance to learn more before applying?

Yes! We’re hosting a virtual NLT Interest Session on Thursday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. CT where you’ll learn about the impact of serving on this special team, the responsibilities of the different roles, and have the chance to ask questions of current NLT members. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable insight into what it’s like to be part of the NLT.

How do I apply?

NLT Interest Forms for the 2025-2027 biennium are open Oct. 1 through Nov. 30! Interested alumnae can submit their form by logging in to the Member Portal and selecting the Volunteer Interest Form button on the homepage.  

• If you have never served on NLT, you will select the National Volunteers: New Applicants button. 

• If you have previously served on NLT, you will instead select the National Volunteers: Previously Served button.
