Our 65^th Biennial National Convention is nearly here, and we are so excited to finally celebrate Our Own KD! Here are our top five things about this year’s convention that we are most excited for – and you will be too!

1. Hosting the largest Kappa Delta sisterhood event of the biennium

Convention is a time for collegians, alumnae, volunteers and staff to come together and celebrate the accomplishments of Our Own KD … and we think it feels a little bit like a big sisterhood retreat. This year, Kappa Delta is hosting an event specifically dedicated to sisterhood to allow attendees to relax, have fun and connect. “KΔMP KD” will give you the opportunity to bond with members of our National Council, hang with new sisters around a bonfire and make new memories in National Harbor that will last a lifetime.

2. Celebrating philanthropic impact

   Kappa Delta’s are known for building confidence and inspiring action through our philanthropic efforts, and we get to celebrate that throughout different convention events and sessions! Attendees will not only have the opportunity to hear from inspiring leaders of Prevent Child Abuse America and the Girl Scouts of the USA, but they’ll also get to see the amazing impact the Kappa Delta Foundation has made through the Imagine Her Future Campaign to fund scholarships. And as a bonus, Kappa Delta will debut our new national philanthropy video that highlights how our members make a difference through selfless service.

   

   3. Yoga with our Executive Director

      Did you know Kappa Delta’s Executive Director Maggie Waples is a certified yoga instructor? Not only that, but she is teaching a yoga class Saturday morning! A KD convention-first, this event will bring Zen and relaxation to our sisters, amidst a packed schedule. This session is designed specifically to inspire and motivate attendees, and we can’t wait for her to help us become the ultimate yogis!

      

      4. Seeing our brand refresh in action

         In October 2022, we celebrated 125 years of Kappa Delta and introduced an updated visual brand for Kappa Delta Sorority and Foundation. We updated our imagery to feel timeless yet current through new logos, fonts and color scheme! The refreshed Kappa Delta brand is an accurate and confident representation of who we are, and our convention attendees will get to see it in action for the first time in person. Our brand can be found in programs, visuals, handouts, photo opportunities, presentations, apparel, buttons and more!

         

         5. Setting the foundation for the next biennium

            This year’s convention theme is all about celebrating Our Own KD’s 125^th birthday and acknowledging how far we’ve come as a sisterhood. It’s also focused on setting the stage for what the future of Kappa Delta looks like. Through business meetings, electing new National Council and Foundation board members, and impactful speakers, this convention will be an unforgettable week and kick off what’s to become our best biennium yet.
