Give to KD

Kappa Delta’s 2021 Holiday Gift Guide

Still need gifts for the Kappa Delta sisters on your holiday shopping list? Never fear! This year we’ve compiled the perfect gift guide featuring gifts (mostly) under $25! See what the Kappa Delta National Council and the Kappa Delta Foundation board recommends for and check out these amazing goodies before the holidays are upon us. Beth Martin Langford, KD Foundation board chair: During the holidays I love to give (and receive) gifts from my kitchen. It involves more time (and love) than money. Spiced tea is always a hit!

Laura Beth McKew, National VP-Collegians: I’m a sucker for sweet treats and love holiday themed cakes, cookies or even donuts. I’m notorious for picking up holiday-themed Krispy Kreme donuts and delivering to sisters. I also believe a box of cookies, petit fours, small pies or other dessert from a local bakery always makes a great gift!

Maggie Waples, Executive Director: My favorite kitchen gadget for the home chef is a microplane zester/grater(It comes in all colors, including KD green!) It grates parmesan, garlic and citrus. A must-have!

Brandi Cappaert Harper, KD Foundation board director: I always love to give either a bag of ground coffee or an edible Christmas goodie (or both together)! Yum!

Emily Ulmer Feinstein, National Vice President: My favorite gift to give for under $25 is a fresh set of kitchen towels from Williams Sonoma!

Courtney Hicks Dickey, National VP-Membership: I am loving these clear, personalized mugs from Etsy! I’m buying them for everyone! I put some red tissue paper in the cup, add a hot cocoa packet and—voila!—you have an awesome gift. If you want to splurge a little, add the Dolly Parton Hot Cocoa Mix from Williams Sonoma because…it’s Dolly!

Julie Landgren Johnson, NPC Delegate: One of my favorite things I once received was Dead Sea Salt Body Scrub. It comes in a variety of scents, but my favorite is coconut.

Susan Stockton, National President: My favorite gift comes from a shop owned by KD sister and fellow Kentuckian, Angela Correll, Kentucky Soaps and Such.  I choose a combination of the hand soap and a small body cream in the scent “Little Black Dress.”

Kristin Power, KD Foundation board director: Any of the Make Up Eraser 7-Day Sets! I just bought four sets for holiday gifts. I love them!

Kirsten Jakmas Kuykendoll, KD Foundation board director: This eucalyptus shower mist is my favorite thing.  I found it years ago and spray my shower with it every morning. Makes me feel like I’m in a spa!

Sue Brauer Mickelberg, KD Foundation board secretary/treasurer: Bombas socks are a go-to gift for me—especially for those of us “up north” in the frozen winter tundra! Bombas has a great “give back” story. The performance socks are my favorite, but other types (crew, etc.) are great also.

Cheryl Grant Sizer, KD Foundation board director: My goto gifts are a gift card for manicure or pedicure to pamper yourself, a warm scarf if it is cold out or a bouquet of flowers.

Sarah Smith Dubbert, National VP-Finance: I love gifting this little LED Christmas Lights phone charging cable – it’s so festive!

Kate McGlynn, KD Foundation board director: This is the 25th year that my KD big sis and I have been exchanging Kappa Delta ornaments. She puts up two trees, one of which is solely decorated with Kappa Delta ornaments. The ornament I chose this year is from Snappy Turtle Designs, and she had lot of KD options!

Tove Bichel Thomas, National VP-Alumnae: My favorite gift to give a KD sister would be a nautilus ornament. The nautilus is my favorite KD symbol. These are not always easy to find, so I gather them when I am traveling near the coast. I also love to give gifts created by KD sisters, such as Suzy Zoo, Georgia O’Keeffe, Vera Bradley, etc. KD recipients always appreciate these, knowing the source!

Jodi Scheurenbrand, KD Foundation board director: My goto these days is custom marble coasters from ARCHd. They’re the perfect way to memorialize all those great girls’ trips and support our own amazingly talented sister, Kristen Archer, and her real-life sister Lindsey. They are an absolute no-brainer for me!

From all of us at Kappa Delta national headquarters, we wish you a happy holiday season!
