Kappa Delta Foundation Helps Fund Medical Research Internships
April 02, 2012
The Foundation is partnering with Karen Adcock Hasty, PhD, (Alpha Epsilon-Tennessee), an acclaimed professor of orthopaedic surgery at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, to offer a first-class summer internship program in Memphis.
Four Kappa Delta collegians have been awarded a summer internship, where they will receive hands-on training in orthopaedic research, summer housing at KD Headquarters, and a stipend.
This year, Dr. Hasty received an astounding 60% increase in applications --- showing the overwhelming amount of interest our collegians have in this program.
The 2012 Medical Research Summer Interns are:
Nina Jain, Omega Chi-Cornell University
Christine McLaughlin, Delta Mu-Newberry College
Abigail Calametti, Sigma Lambda-Auburn University
Shelby Kozlowski, Eta Eta-Northern Kentucky University
The Foundation congratulates these young women on their outstanding applications and their interest in the research field.
